SaltStick® shelf space grows at REI, adding more FastChews® flavors and DrinkMix in select locations

THOUSAND OAKS, CALIF.— January 25, 2024 — Alete Active Nutrition, LLC (Alete) – a portfolio company that owns multiple sports nutrition brands, including SaltStick, Bonk Breaker®, JoJé Bar® and Vitassium® – today announced an expanded selection of SaltStick products will be available for purchase at Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), beginning February 2024. The REI FastChews lineup will now include Coconut Pineapple and the newly launched Green Apple flavors, as well as Tart Orange and Lemon Lime DrinkMix in select locations.

FastChews are chewable electrolyte tablets made with natural ingredients, designed for rapid hydration. Because of their unique format, the electrolytes are absorbed through the lining of the mouth, which studies have shown to take in certain nutrients up to four times faster compared to ingestion via the intestines. FastChews do not need to be mixed with water, so there’s no powders, no waiting and no mess.
DrinkMix is a zero-sugar electrolyte powder that replaces a similar ratio of electrolytes to what is lost through sweat.
Starting in February 2024, Coconut Pineapple FastChews 60-count bottles and 10-count packets, as well as Green Apple FastChews 10-count packets, will be available at 138 REI storefront locations. Tart Orange and Lemon Lime DrinkMix Stick Packs will be available at 34 storefront locations. These add to the existing REI product set, which included five flavors of FastChews, as well as SaltStick Caps and Race Ready Caps Plus. All products are also available to purchase at www.rei.com.
