Ella Eastin is a 4x American record holder and 12x NCAA champion swimmer who was diagnosed with dysautonomia at the peak of her career, forcing her into retirement. Now, Ella's goal is to share her experiences and build awareness toward the dysautonomia, chronic illness, and disabled communities.Dysunderstood is a platform and community that allows those living with such conditions to have a voice, share their story in ways they want it to be told, and connect. As part of an ongoing partnership between Vitassium and Dysunderstood, we hosted a live Q&A with Ella at this year’s Dysautonomia International conference. Ella answered questions about her diagnosis, how she copes with the physical and emotional toll that dysautonomia takes, how her life has been impacted now that she had to retire from swimming, and more.
Her moving story resonates with so many others with dysautonomia. We’d like to thank Ella, Dysautonomia International and all of the viewers worldwide that participated in this conversation.
